Professor Reva Wolf and Artist Helène Aylon
in Conversation at the Dorsky, Saturday, October 25, at 2 pm
Wolf will provide an overview of Parsons and her close relationships with artists, including Saul Steinberg, who in 1980 made a delightful work of art for Parsons as a birthday present, currently on view in the museum. Helène Aylon, who, like Steinberg, Parsons represented at her gallery, will read the section of her memoir that focuses on her relationship with Parsons.
Included in the program, as a special treat, are audio clips from Aylon’s 1977 interview with Parsons, giving audience members the rare opportunity to hear her resonant voice, strong opinions, and a moving recitation of one of the many poems that she wrote for her artist friends.
