Fall Auctions: Cézanne, Femme Nue Debout
Over the next few days, Sotheby’s auction house, my old stomping grounds, will join Christie’s to offer $1 billion with a ‘B’ worth of Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary Art. Enjoy this lovely close look at a Cézanne nude in case it is sold to a private collection ne’er to be seen again. It’s crass, but back in the day, we had trouble getting contemporary art to sell past the $1 million mark. Those days are long gone. Enjoy!
