NPVRC Spotlight: Remote Collections
Spotlight: Remote Collection Access Through NPVRC
Graphic Design majors will love to examine images from the Otis College of Art and Design collection of Artists’ Books. Located in Los Angeles, California, Otis digitized its collection, comprising nearly 2,000 artists’ books in various formats, by photographing over 6,000 images of representative portions of each work. Many of these books are rare or unique, and created by artists such as Ed Ruscha, Vito Acconci and Joseph Beuys.
Try it out on our Test Server: Go to https://npvrc.newpaltz.edu, log in as guest, and click the Search link. Select the Otis Collection of Artists’ Books and enter a keyword or a term in another field. Click the Search button at the bottom of the screen, and enjoy. For example, the keyword “grapefruit” will yield seven images of the artist’s book of this title by Yoko Ono.
